I am an idea person, a color person, a line, shape, texture person. I sense what’s going on with myself and others and when I put thoughts and senses together, up pops an idea. They pop a lot.

I love working my hands in clay and strive to let the image and idea just emerge and take its own direction. I use frogs as subject frequently because of the fragility of their situation and of their anthropomorphic qualities. Expanding into the realm of mosaic sculptures I am now putting my individual clay critters and creatures into “context”, and always, (well almost always) add a touch of humor to lighten things up a bit. I want people to be able to live with the art I do; to be able to touch it and put it in their outside environments; to come across it occasionally and have it put a smile on their face. I have fun making it; I want people to have fun living with it.

One idea feeds another; one image, shape, combination, leads to another. This is what I hope you see in my part of this show, this and maybe some of the fun I feel while I get to make all this great stuff.

And then there are the angels. The angels are for people I know who need an angel; who’ve had some life threatening or potentially life threatening “challenge” in their life.

You can’t buy an angel, or commission one. I only give them away.
