Here is my studio on a beautiful afternoon.

Color is fun and the inter-mixing, layering and flowing of glazes is fun AND exciting. Ceramics is very much about the chemistry and physical properties of substances. All sorts of information and formulas are available and many artists enjoy this aspect. I do too at times. Bit I REALLY like the "what if" approach. Just like my cooking. I know what I want it to "taste" like so I see what I have on hand that will make it happen. Sometimes I do tests, sometimes I just take my chances. Seldom is anything a disaster (like putting too much salt in the stew) and from everything I learn a little more - and I always try to have FUN.
